Day 1 Sun - Depart USA

Board your international flight to Cairo and begin your journey back in time to this charming, ancient land.

Day 2 Mon - Cairo

Arrival in the Land of the Pharaohs. At Cairo International airport you will be welcomed by our representative, and , then escorted to your hotel.

Day 3 Tue - Cairo, Aswan (Optional Tour to Abu Simbel)

Morning flight to Aswan. Upon arrival you will be escorted to your hotel (Optional tour to Abu Simble) visit the Colossal Temple of Ramses II and Temple of his beloved Queen Nefertari, both temples carved out of a hillside beside the Nile in the 13th centery BC

Day 4 Wed - Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu

After breakfast, transfer to your cruise ship where you will spend the next 3 nights 4 days. Accommodation aboard your cruise ship will consist of outside junior suite cabin with private facilities. You will visit the High Dam, the Granite Quarries with the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae, view of Kitcheners Island botanical garden and the Agha Khan Mausoleum by felucca. After lunch, sail to Kom Ombo where you will visit the Ptolemaic Temple of Sobek & Haroeries. Then sail to edfu and overnight

Day 5 Thur - Edfu, Luxor

Travel by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus, the falcon-god, considered the best-preserved temple in Ancient Egypt and the second largest after the Temple of Karnak. Sail to Esna, passing through the Esna Lock, and continue sailing towards Luxor and overnight.

Day 6 Fri - Luxor (Optional Sound & Light Show)

Visit the West Bank necropolis including the Valley of the Kings, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. (Evening optional Sound & Light Show at Karnak Temple). Overnight in Luxor.

Day 7 Sat - Luxor, Cairo

After breakfast, visit Karnak and Luxor Temples, a centuries-old city of pylons, hypostyle halls, colossal statues, shrines and obelisks. Disembarkation and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo you will be met and escorted to your hotel.

Day 8 Sun - Cairo, City Tour, Pyramids

Morning visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities which includes the world’s largest collection of Pharaonic artifacts and the treasures of Tutankhamen’s tomb. Then drive to Old Cairo where early Judaism & Christianity flourished and visit Al Moallaka Church (Hanging Church) and Ben Ezra Synagogue. Stop for lunch, afternoon visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx, then proceed to Khan El Khalili, the world’s largest 13th century covered oriental bazaar. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 9 Mon - Cairo (Optional Tour to Alexandria)

A free day for shopping, sightseeing or simply wandering through the city’s fascinating streets and byways. (Optional: overday excursion to Alexandria, by private car accompanied by an English speaking Egyptologist: visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shugafa, the Fortress of Qait Bay, the Greco-Roman Museum and Alexandria Library “Bibliotheca Alexandrina”).
