DAY 1: Sun - Depart USA
Board your international flight to Cairo and begin your journey back in time to this charming, ancient land.
| DAY 2: Mon - Cairo
Arrival in the Land of the Pharaohs. At Cairo International Airport you will be welcomed and assisted through immigration and customs by our representative, then escorted to your hotel. (D)
| DAY 3: Tue - Cairo, Abu Simbel, Aswan
This morning transfer to Cairo airport for your flight to Abu Simbel via Aswan, visit the Great Temple of Ramses II and the temple of his beloved Queen Nefertari. After visiting this magnificent site, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Aswan. Once there, your representative will assist and transfer you to your hotel in Aswan. (B, D)
| DAY 4: Wed - Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu
After breakfast, transfer to your cruise ship where you will spend the next 3 nights / 4 days. Accommodation aboard your cruise ship will consist of outside junior suite cabin with private facilities. You will visit the High Dam, the Granite Quarries with the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. View of Kitchener’s Island botanical garden and the Agha Khan Mausoleum by felucca. After lunch, sail to Kom Ombo where you will visit the Ptolemaic Temple of Sobek & Haroeries. Then sail to Edfu and overnight. (B, L, D)
| DAY 5: Thu - Edfu, Luxor
Travel by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus, the falcon-god, considered the best-preserved temple in Ancient Egypt and the second largest after the Temple of Karnak. Sail to Esna, passing through the Esna Lock, and continue sailing towards Luxor and overnight. (B, L, D)
| DAY 6: Fri - Luxor
Visit the West Bank including Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. Visit Karnak Temple & Luxor Temple on the East Bank. Evening, transfer to Karnak Temple for the Sound & Light Show. Overnight in Luxor. (B, L, D)
| DAY 7: Sat - Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Sharm El Sheikh, enjoy your dine around dinner and overnight at your hotel. (B, D)
| DAY 8: Sun - Sharm El Sheikh
A day of sun and sea to plan as you like; (optional: diving tour in Ras Mohammed underwater nature reserve) or sign up for a trek to a Bedouin Camp in the desert. (B, D)
| DAY 9: Mon - Sharm, St. Catherine
Today visit St. Catherine your way by private Car. Try either a day tour to visit the Monastery only, and back to Sharm, or a night tour to climb Mt. Sinai to watch an unforgettable sunrise and then head down in the morning and visit the Monastery. Back to Sharm El Sheikh. (B, D)
| DAY 10: Tue - Sharm El Sheikh
A free day to enjoy the beaches of Sharm El Sheikh.(B, D)
| DAY 11: Wed - Sharm El Sheikh, Cairo
Return flight from Sharm El Sheikh back to Cairo, with balance of the day at leisure. (B, D)
| DAY 12: Thu - Cairo (optional Tour to Alexandria)
Day at leisure to explore this fascinating city on your own and catch up with your last minute shopping. (Optional: over day excursion to Alexandria by private car & accompanied by an English speaking Egyptologist: visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shukafa, Quait Bay Fort, National Museum, Abu El Abbas Mosque and Alexandria Library “Bibliotheca Alexandrina” (time permitting). | DAY 13: Fri - Cairo, City Tour
Start your day with a guided tour of the Egyptian Museum where you will find artifacts of the Pharaonic era and the treasures of king Tutankhamun’s tomb. Drive to Old Cairo, where early Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue and Saint Sergius Church. After lunch, drive to the Citadel of Saladin and visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Enjoy a walking tour of the largest 13th century covered oriental market, Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Dinner and overnight at hotel. (B, L, D)
| DAY 14: Sat - Cairo, Pyramids Tour
After breakfast, a scenic drive will take you to the Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, which have stood for the last 5000 years. Complete your visit at Giza with a tour of the Solar Boat Museum. After lunch, continue to the ancient city of Memphis, the first capital of united Upper and Lower Egypt and then visit Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. Evening, return to the Pyramids area for a "Sound & Light” show. (B, L, D)
| DAY 15: Sun - Departure
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
